Colocation Web Hosting Service, Qube Networks, Expands Managed Hosting Vancouver, Washington - Colocation and managed web hosting services firm, Qube Networks, has premiered its new managed hosting service for the mass market at Internet World.
07.05.2007 posted by Administrator
Tom Howard, Chief Technical Director at Qube Networks remarked, ``The quality of managed hosting service offered to the majority of British businesses has been abysmal. Why should businesses have to put up with Service Level Agreements that only begin when the customer spots there is a problem and data transfer agreements that do not deliver customers the bandwidth they need, at the times they need it most? Our promise is simple, plain English contracts and a proactively managed service with the best levels of IP bandwidth available.``
In the future, Qube Networks plans to offer two levels of managed hosting service. The new Standard Service will start at £ 400 per month, with the traditional Premium Service, for internet-dependant businesses, remaining in place. Standard Service customers will be hosted at Qube Networks’ new 1,600ft2 facility at the Level 3 data centre in London’s Goswell Road, complimenting its existing 4,000ft2 private suite.
Mr. Howard added, ``Qube Networks has built its reputation providing co-location and managed services of the highest standards and we plan to now bring that experience to a wider business audience at a price they can afford.``
Qube Networks is a colocation and managed services provider that designs, builds, manages, hosts and maintains IT infrastructures on behalf of clients. Qube Networks also supplies the raw commodity items, such as Internet bandwidth and high power data centre space.

Web Hosting VoIP Firm, XO Communications, Expands Private Data Network Services Web host, Internet and telecommunications services company, XO Communications, in an effort to expand private data networking services and high-speed Internet access for businesses, has debuted its Broadband Wireless Services in Seattle.
02.05.2007 posted by Administrator
The new services from XO Communications and Nextlink Wireless, Inc., an affiliated XO company with licenses in 75 metropolitan markets, are aimed toward businesses at locations that lack fiber connections or are only served by one local incumbent service provider can receive high-speed Internet access and private data networking services directly from XO. XO hopes to deliver high speed network services directly to businesses over wireless links at speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 155 Mbps (OC- 3) to support a wide range of communications services. The services include high-speed dedicated Internet access, metro Ethernet, voice over IP (VoIP), wide area networks in campus or business park settings and network redundancy.
From wireless hubs deployed in the Seattle metropolitan area, XO can provide these services to qualified line-of-sight locations within a range of up to 11 miles. Broadband wireless technology allows XO Communications to expand its network coverage in Seattle beyond its metro fiber network and fill a critical gap for businesses that require higher-speed network speeds but are constrained by the bandwidth limitations of current ``last-mile`` copper-based access connections or due to a lack of direct access to fiber. Last- mile copper connections typically often cannot scale above T-1 (1.5 Mbps) speeds to meet businesses` higher-bandwidth demands, while direct fiber access is available in less than 20 percent of buildings in the United States.
Paul Merritt, General Manager of the Seattle market for XO Communications remarked, ``XO`s deployment of broadband wireless technology opens the door to a wider world of options for high-speed network access for businesses that are trapped because they are only served by copper or one local telecom provider. This expansion of our network is part of our continuing focus to provide businesses with innovative high-speed network services and alternatives in the wake of a consolidating telecommunications industry.``
XO Communications` broadband wireless coverage initially includes downtown Seattle. In the future, XO hopes to have the ability to deploy additional wireless hubs to reach qualified locations across the Seattle metropolitan area including Bellevue, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lynnwood, Mercer Island, Redmond and Renton. The launch in Seattle expands XO Communications` wireless coverage to eleven major metropolitan areas across the United States following previous deployments in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, San Diego, Tampa and Washington, DC.
Nextlink, a subsidiary of XO Holdings, Inc., provides broadband wireless services to the wireless and wireline communications service provider, business and government markets. As one of the nation`s largest holders of fixed wireless spectrum, Nextlink delivers carrier-grade wireless access solutions supporting next- generation mobile and wireline voice, data and video applications.
XO Communications, a subsidiary of XO Holdings, Inc., is a provider of national and local telecommunications services to businesses, large enterprises and communications service providers. XO offers a portfolio of services, including local and long distance voice, dedicated Internet access, private networking, data transport, and web hosting services, as well as bundled voice and Internet solutions. XO provides these services over an advanced, nationwide facilities-based IP network and serves 75 metropolitan markets across the United States.
