"With their 24x7x365 tech support and their well known commitment to total customer satisfaction, I feel my customers will benefit from advantages that a small company just can not deliver."

"Luke Hubert has a reputation for providing innovative customer solutions that have sealed ChiliHost’s status as a premier hosting provider. We are proud to have this opportunity to take this company to the next level. We are especially pleased that Luke will continue with the company in a business development and account management capacity," said NationalNet’s CEO, Tony Morgan.

"ChiliHost, the 2006 CyberSocket Industry Choice for Web Hosting Award winner, is a leader in International web hosting and is well known as a customer-focused, high-end web host. ChiliHost brings both a strong US presence to NationalNet as well as an established European hosting solution which will be a new option for our customers," explained NationalNet’s Executive Vice President, Bill VanVorst.

NationalNet plans more acquisitions in 2007 in a bid to expand further into the hosting and managed IT services market. "In my opinion, 2007 will see more consolidation in our industry and we plan on being a big part of it," added Tony Morgan. "We want to be poised to aggressively take advantage of these opportunities as they arise."

FiberNet announces new NYC colocation facility

FiberNet Telecom Group Inc., which provides complex interconnection services, has announced its plans to develop a new colocation facility at 60 Hudson Street in New York City. Resulting from the growing demand for its colocation and transport services, this 11,000-sq.-ft expansion will increase the size of FiberNet`s presence at 60 Hudson Street by more than 36% and its total colocation and data center footprint by approximately 12%.

The company reports that the new facility will be fully integrated with all of its other colocation facilities and data centers via its metropolitan optical networks and will deliver its full suite of transport and interconnection services.

The facility is expected to be fully operational in the third quarter of this year. The lease extends through 2022. FiberNet says it intends to fund the development of this facility with existing cash and internally generated cash flows and will provide additional information with the release of its fourth quarter results this month.

Serving as an international hub for telecommunications carriers and global service providers, 60 Hudson Street is one of the preeminent carrier hotels in the world. Domestic and international carriers utilize this key communications facility to house their networking equipment and to exchange voice, video, and data traffic. They have access to hundreds of networks by utilizing FiberNet`s transport services, including metro Ethernet transport, dynamic hub and dynamic gateway conversions and cross-connect services, as well as its Phonomenum voice-over-IP peering services.

Server Colocation and Hosting Services Provider Zogmo Creates ‘HoustonIX’ Peering Fabric

Server colocation and hosting services provider Zogmo has created the ‘HoustonIX’ peering fabric, it was announced recently. This is the first-ever public peering fabric in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area and enables Internet service providers to exchange Internet traffic at a neutral exchange point.
05.03.2007 posted by Administrator

Powered by Cisco networking hardware with FastE, GigE, or 10Gig connections, HoustonIX provides lower-latency connections to servers based in Houston. It also provides Houston residents with faster connections to a wide array of web destinations, especially those located within the city. Currently, Houston hosts several of the largest datacenters in the world, and has a high concentration of web servers.

“We have been discussing and planning a robust peering fabric for about 18 months, and we are excited to not only serve the residents of Houston, but also the tens of thousands of customers who have servers located in Houston datacenters,” said Linn Boyd, Vice President of Operations for Zogmo. “Until now, Houston was the largest metropolitan area in the nation to not have a public peering fabric in place.”

Peering allows independent Internet network operators to exchange traffic directly, which reduces the number of routers a data packet must reach before it arrives at its final destination. Zogmo will manage the peering fabric, and will be responsible for its ongoing maintenance.
